Village of Waterloo history
In 1859 John C. Weston made the first settelement in the area, approximately 1 mile west of The current day Village of Waterloo. Waterloo was incorporated as a town in 1883, and was the first to do so in western Douglas county. At that time John H. Campbell became the towns first Constable, and the police department was established.
Waterloo has contined to thrive as a community, which has shown with a steady population increase. Waterloo's current population of approximately 740 is expected to grow well over a 1000 in a few short years. Waterloo enjoys quality restaurants such as Farmer Browns,and Elbees .
